CALEB DITCHFIELD · SENIOR BACKEND & BLOCKCHAIN ENGINEER
I build financial infrastructure where transaction correctness, security, and reliability matter.
I have spent 9+ years building backend, distributed, and security-critical systems, primarily in TypeScript, Node.js, and Solidity. My work spans stablecoin lifecycle engineering, tokenization, EVM transaction orchestration, wallet and signing flows, permissions, monitoring, and incident response.
Current work: production EVM transaction infrastructure, coding-agent evaluation, and independent backend systems.

Stablecoin lifecycle engineering with production controls at $3.5B peak PCV.
As Fei's initial Solidity engineer, I shipped and reviewed 20+ production contracts and TypeScript tooling across FEI, TRIBE governance, redemption, and protocol-controlled-value systems. My 83 merged public PRs include role-based permissions, guardian/admin controls, governance validation, deployment automation, monitoring, and incident-response infrastructure.

Node.js · Transaction Orchestration · Wallets · EVM Infrastructure
A high-throughput transaction pipeline operated across 410,000+ live transactions.
Tarkin consumed live mempool traffic, generated candidate transactions, and distributed deterministic simulations across local EVM nodes and up to eight workers. I built its wallet/provider layer, signing and transaction controls, ERC-20 approval flows, guarded Solidity execution, Dockerized node infrastructure, and Datadog/Discord observability.
Proof: ~5,000 transaction variants/second · 400k+ BNB Smart Chain transactions · 10k+ Polygon transactions
DeFi Lending · Protocol Architecture · Solidity
Founding engineering for a novel onchain lending mechanism.
Owned the architecture, contracts, TypeScript integrations, correctness controls, and tests as the sole engineer through a16z CSX Spring 2024.
RWA Tokenization · Verification · Marketplace
Carbon-credit tokenization and verification on Ethereum.
Led development of an Ethereum-based carbon-credit tokenization, verification, and marketplace platform, shaping the token, exchange, and verification-flow architecture.
Payment Channels · Onchain/Offchain Settlement · Node.js
Connecting application state to Ethereum settlement.
Architected Layer 2 payment-channel systems for metered and subscription compute, then built the Solidity contracts and TypeScript/Node.js middleware connecting off-chain state with Ethereum finality through Connext.
FastAPI · SQLite · Alembic · LanceDB
Database and API infrastructure for a 40+ GiB private archive.
A local-first FastAPI service, SQLite/Alembic data model, and LanceDB retrieval layer ingest and reconcile 1.3M+ messages while retaining source provenance. Loopback-only access, one-time tokens, HttpOnly sessions, guarded attachments, and reversible deletion controls keep private data private.
Coding-Agent Evaluation · Retrieval · Developer Tooling
Applied AI as an expansion of production systems work.
I design and review adversarial coding-agent evaluations, graders, tests, and reference implementations. Spearbot explored hierarchical code summaries and HNSW retrieval for repeatable Solidity audit analysis; Codex Repo Template packages versioned repository context and agent workflows.
